Call for Animator/Modeler for contract job.

Hi, my name is Cameron Farn. I’m the head of Sculpture, Props & Design for F&D Scene changes Ltd in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Also known as Threetails on this forum. As i’m a huge fan of Zbrush and this forum you all get the first shot at this work.

I’m looking for an animator/modeler to work with me on a contract basis. It would require, creating and animating a 3-5 min short for a Themed Holiday Display magic mirror, showing an exterior scene with pop up elves. Art work is available, and artist input is required.

The animation will be small and will repeat. There is no sound. All elements are cartoon in nature. i’m looking for someone who can turn this around and have it ready for review by November the 15th 2007. budget would be determind by skill level and examples of quality of work. please submit a small short “quick time” or “mov” of an animated character to [email protected] asap,(keep it small) with all your contact information and resume with all details. Or post a link here and i will check it hourly and review the candidates with our managment team. this is a real offer with a solid budget of (10,000.00+can) for characters and animation but a tight deadline. if your upto the challage and want a shot, this is it. you need to be skilled in the pakages of your choice and be available for confrence calls and provide weekly progress shots of sculpts and animatioins, you will be held to a professional standard, and deadline obligations. a local talent is cool but not required. you must be 18yrs of age or older and be legally allowed to work.

here are some of the images and some details that we expect to work with.
-one elf can be produced and excessorized to make up the looks of the others.
-The background will have several trees swaying like the one shown on a snowy hill.
-One animated looking mail box, although not moving.
-It may be a daytime scene overcast with snow falling. this may change with the finall art work. fiinished background art work will be provided and may be utilized as part of the work.
the elves will pop up, or fly in and wave nod wink etc. and then pop out again.
a series of these will need to be made and then it will repeat. at some point the mirror should frost over, and stay that way with blurry images images of the trees moving in the back ground. when prompted the frost fades and the pop ups begins.

more details will be made available to the final candidate and the final animation must feature Zbrush work.
thanks for your interest i hope to here from you soon.
a final submission deadline will be posted shortly.

Hi

I have been working in 3D since 1992. I worked for several years in television production at Mainframe Entertainment (now a part of Rainmaker) in Vancouver Canada on shows such as Reboot, Beast Wars, Action Man, etc. I spent several years supervising teams of animators on DVD projects as well in my time there. I am used to working with tight deadlines and with minimal supervision.

I have been teaching animation courses for the past four years in Costa Rica and continue to work on outside projects by way of the internet. I have a pool of talented eager people available to me for designing, modeling and animation. If you are interested I can provide you with character designs and 3D models built by my team of people. I can definitely work with the budget and timeline you mentioned.

I also operate the render farm at the school. A nice perk!

I have some of my animation work and my resume that you can download www.tropical3d.com (website just barely under construction)

you can contact me at [email protected] or [email protected]

I look forward to hearing from you.
