So i’m about to embark on the journey that is buying a new pc. I am currently a game artist (3d modeler) but want to eventually move over into film/television. I want my next computer purchase to be strong enough and able to help carry me over to the tv/film industry. I’m going to be doing high resolution sculpting in zbrush, displacement maps, mental ray, hard surface modeling…etc etc.
I would really love a helpful push in the right direction. Although i’ve been a game artist for 2 years, i’ve never really been very computer savvy. I have a general idea on what my pc will need, good graphics card, 12gb of ram or more…but i need specific help. What computer should i buy specifically and where from? I can’t assemble my own computer because i’m just not knowledgeable enough about pc’s…and don’t want to risk it.
