Buttons with Wasted Empty Space?

I find trying to build a custom UI quickly runs out of space mostly because many buttons have an egregious amount of empty space wasted.

I could probably fit 40 % more buttons on screen if space wasn’t so abused.

Is there any way to cut buttons from all their wasted space?

ps. This is on a 27 inch screen running at 1440P… so its not a small monitor.

Hello @wrender8,

Ignore the text, it does not matter. The only thing that matters is the size of the buttons in the template. If two buttons are stacked on top of each other in the same column, they must be the same size. If there are two smaller buttons underneath a longer button in a column, those two buttons underneath it must match the button length above. If the buttons were resized as you suggested to fit whatever text they are displaying, it would be chaos and the UI would not have neat, legible columns.

It’s kind of like building something out of plastic building blocks. You have different blocks of fixed size that snap together, and they must all fit together to create perfect rectangular boxes.

You can however easily adjust the overall size of both the buttons AND the text with Prefrences> Interface > UI > Button Size. This is the main scaling mechanism for the ZBrush interface, and can be used to fit much more UI on the screen. You will need to restart to see the changes.
