buttons and icons disappearing in ZB2

I’ve started having issues where the icons and buttons disappear when I click on them. They just disappear when I click, and the only way I could save my Ztool before restarting Z2 was to use the pull-down menu to get to the requester box.

Im on a PC, XP

The Ctrl and Shift keys can become ‘stuck’ if you release either one before releasing the Alt key. For example, holding Ctrl+Alt to subtract from a mask and then releasing the Ctrl key leaves you in masking mode. As you probably know holding Ctrl and clicking an interface item dislodges it from a palette or removes it from the interface.

A quick tap of the Ctrl key will set you back on track, of course minus any interface items you clicked on.

I must have grown accustomed to this behaviour as it has not happened to me in a long long time. Still wish it could be turned off though.

I’m also on a PC, XP pro.

Man, I have to agree with you, I have this problem and I wish that was an option rather than imposed on us - it’s a bit jerky to have disappearing icons, do soley on not realizing which button was let go of first. If you have clicked on an icon and it disappeard, is there a quick way of getting it back? Sorry for the “junior” question.
Thanks for the info on it.

Hi Ray,

A quick tap of the title-bar CUSTOM button (you do have a UICustom file, don’t you?) will restore any lost interface buttons.

And if you don’t have a custom configuration stored, clicking the Custom button will restore ZBrush to the default UI. Either way, you get all your buttons back.

Thanks guys!

I know this is a bit old, but just wanted to say that finding answers to noob questions in such a simply-put way, renews my drive to continue learning. Thank you
