Hi guys, I keep getting this when I try to mask or sculpt. Nothing is smooth anymore. I tried zremesh, but it didn’t fix the issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
All strokes are made up of a series of dots. What is happening is that the dots are getting spaced too far apart. As your draw size gets small, you require faster real-time feedback to keep the dots close together. This becomes more difficult as your model increases in polygon count. You have a dense mesh and a really small brush size. There are a few things you can do to deal with it:
- Move the cursor more slowly, giving your CPU a chance to keep up.
- Zoom in closer so that you can increase the draw size relative to the polygons.
- Hide parts of the mesh that you’re not currently sculpting so that your CPU doesn’t have to take them into account as it does its real-time rendering.
One or more of these should be possible in pretty much any situation.
I really appreciate the both of you taking the time to reply. Thank you.
So I tried masking everything except the part of the head I want to sculpt on. Didn’t work.
I tried setting the lazy mouse to .25 and that didn’t work.
I also tried going real slow and that finally did the trick. What I’m confused about is my active points is only in the 12000s and I’ve never had this issue even when it was much, much higher before.
You should upgrade to the latest version which is ZBrush 2018.1. The upgrade is free to all registered users.
