Bump viewer material jaggies...

I’m having problems with the bumpviewermaterial coming out smooth. I played around with all the settings last night but no luck. I hate asking dumb questions when I should know this, BUT I"M GETTING JAGGIED to death…I’m using adaptive skinning with AUV tiles. The texture size is large. Is it a resolution problem or what…Arrrgh…
Sincerely,
Dip head…

I think it because it is not same material on your model.
too different materials do that artefact
(I hope you understand my explanation)

and don’t forget to smooth your model ( tool > modifier > at up slide the smooth button)

Texture size definetely plays a part if you want smooth thin lines with the bumpviewer material(or any material). But in this case it looks like you are in Quick 3D mode. Try pressing ‘f’ or ‘shift + f’ to go back to normal viewing mode, or turn of Quick 3D mode in the transform palette.

In Quick 3D mode the texture is not smoothed, nor is the model.

Thanks for the imput. While the image that I sent was indeed done with quick view it still has some jaggies when not in quick view. That probably wasn’t the best image to send, in haste. I did discover that if the bump setting is above say 8 the jaggies become much more pronounced. I guess the secret is to keep it below 8 with all the settings on high to get the best resolution…
