No more blender

sorry to hear about that kathy…
On the bright side, they did say that they were working to see if they can find other investors and will post further developments as soon as they come up.
It would be a shame, since Blender is a great program for people to learn the basics of 3d modeling.
IMHO, I think they might have priced Blender Publisher a little too high for the market they were aiming for. I think if they lowered their price point, they might have made more sales and been able to stay afloat.
We’ll see what the future brings.
Good points W/O.
3D software is a TOUGH market.
Hopefully it will spring from the ashes like a pheonix. Just found it amazing they gave up the ghost.

I have the program but never figured out how to use it…grrrr…looked kewl though…

It is really strange because Blender has been reviewed by many famous computer graphics magazines and received very good comment. I believe the reason why it did not sell eventhought it was famous was its unusually interface especially for windows users. That was the reason why i did not use it. Well we usually say that the most important thing for a 3d program is how easy and fast it does the job but it seems that 3d programs need to be also good looking and easy to use. This concept was first introduced by Truespace , which replaced the boring and well known standard buttons and icons whith a mored beatiful and useful interface. This concept was followed by all the new 3d programs including Zbrush but for a reason it was not followed by blender . Even the Whales (i mean 3dsmax, Maya, lightwave) have followed this concept recently and completly changed their G.U.I (general user interface).
I posted something here by mistake. Sorry about that.
