Brushes aren't sculpting on this band

I’m not quite a total noob with ZBrush, but am feeling like one. I imported an .obj file of a wedding band and want to add a random wood grain texture the customer wants. I Dynameshed it at a high resolution of 528, after setting the Close Holes slider to 0 ( I need those cavities for the tree that will go in there, and of course the finger hole).

But when I go to sculpt on it, nothing sculpts. I tried the Orb Cracks brush (a 3rd party one that I really want to use), I tried the DamStandard, and also the Standard, and none do anything to the model.

What silly little thing am I brainfogging about? Thanks for any help and suggestions! Looks like I can’t upload the .zpr file nor the .ztl

Oh I’m using ZBrush 5.1, and I also tried just sculpting on a sphere tool, and the sculpting is working on that. Must be something with the file I imported? I imported it from Rhinoceros. Is there perhaps a wrong setting I clicked when I created the .obj in Rhino?

Hi @Carved_Metal

can you post a screenshot of the model and ZB interface to see how some option are setup , please ?
Also check if your mesh is not masked so clear the masking in tool:masking:clear

Hope it helps

Hi @Carved_Metal

If you can’t determine the cause of your issue and would like us to take a look at it, please upgrade to the current version of ZBrush and contact Pixologic Support.

Thank you!
