Brush symmetry problem

Hi, Id like to know if its possible to fix this, I’m sure I’m overlooking something. Is it possible to stop the brush from overlapping across the symmetry line? It creates unwanted geometry in the center, I would like it to transition smoothly and not layer upon itself.

Thank you!

the best i can offer is what i do to help avoid the issue.

i start my stroke in the middle where the two red dots become one, then i pull outward.

but in cases where you do that and need for it to meet on the other side, i find it a pain to make two ends meet without overlap.

like drawing a stitch around a waist and you need it to meet exactly and connect without overlap.

then what i do is get it close, turn off symmetry and patch in a single stroke.

I was looking more for a brush setting that would fix this. I’m sure there has got be something hidden away. I just can’t word this correctly to find any information on it with google, or forum search. Any more ideas? Thank you!
