I created a model of a helmet in Silo and took it into Zbrush to add texture and then export some maps. Whenever I try to sculpt any part of the helmet the faces on the other side of the shell are affected as well, usually with a lot of distortion. So for example, if I use a noise alpha and set my brush to zadd and start sculpting the outside of the helmet, the polygons on the inside are affected as well, usually in a severe way. The parts are thin, but they have both inner and outer geometry so I’m not sculpting “paper” objects.
I could understand something like this happening if I were using a brush with zsub active with a high zintensity - it would just push the outer face through the back of the inner face, but that isn’t the case here. The problem occurs using zadd or zsub, and at any intensity.
I’ll post a few images soon to show what I’m talking about.
Has anyone had this problem before?
