Brush Curve Modifier size with insert mesh gets stretched

Hey guys,

I am trying to learn more about creating dragons in ZBrush. I made a small start. See the picture below.

I am facing two problems at the moment and I hope you guys can help me out.

I made a small portion of the dragon by making a cylinder, then adding a texture, masking it by intensity and then using the inflate modifier. I then made it into an insert mesh and draw it around the cylinder.

This works pretty good as you can see to make a quick starting point for my dragon (with scales on it) up and till I add a curve modifier (size) to it.

When we take a close look at the point where the tail becomes smaller, the textures is starting to stretch out a lot. See the picture below.

Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

My second question is about the “back scales” that I added. I used the same technique and made an insert brush. It works fine, but not with the size modifier. When I add the size modifier this is what happens:

Instead of getting “smaller” they get stretches to the “back/ end” of the direction I am dragging the line to. This adds a weird and ugly distortion to the mesh.

Can I fix this? or what would be the proper way to do this?

Hope someone can answer one, or both questions

Yep, I’ve got same issue.
