Started working on a bust of Morena Baccarin in my spare time. Still working on getting the major facial landmarks right. Critique always welcome.
tweaking the area around the muzzle. fleshed out the neck a little bit more.
working on the skin texture and shader. then on to messing with Fibermesh for eyelashes, eyebrows and eventually hair. Maybe I’ll finish this by the end of the year
A good start. As you say more work needed, however you are bringing the sculpt “alive”. It has surpassed the 3D look. Well done. I too find the female head fascinating to
model. I shall keep track of your developments.

thanks Ed!
So working on this in the morning before work. Mostly skin work and some shader tweaking. Added a bit more pore detailing.
also, I’m having trouble applying multiple shaders to one subtool. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I have my skin shader applied to the whole mesh, then go to paint in another shader for the lips with just M on…and it doesn’t seem to take
Well started playing with fibermesh in zb4r3. Still wrapping my head around it. Initially I tried to make the eyelashes with it, but ended up just making it with an extracted mesh and the snake hook brush. They still need a lot of love.
The eyebrows are done with fibermesh. This is attempt 5…or maybe 50. I’ve lost track. They also need work, but putting the current progress up to help keep myself motivated.
Well fibermesh is slowly becoming less clumsy in my hands, which is gratifying. I’ve just about finished working out the shape/flow of the hairstyle. It still needs refinement but I’m happy where it’s going. Also I’ll need to go back to the head and paint some hair in to help blend the fibermesh hairs better.
After that it will be time to work more on the materials to help everything read correctly. That and lighting.
I’ve hit the point where I’d like to call it done. Final image rendered in Marmoset, with some PS paintover for shadows and hair cleanup. Hope you enjoy!
and the zbrush sculpt
