Bridge planar fill (single poly width) between to separate meshes?

I Would like to know if its possible to bridge planar fill between separated meshes for example you have a top and bottom mesh but no side walls. There is other software (very pricey) that can do this but have not figured out how to accomplish this task in zmodeler. Any help would be greatly appreciated

here are screen shots of example situation in zbrush and other package that is capable of doing what I want:

Zmodeler:Edge Action - Bridge: Target - Edges will do what’s pictured but with quads.

Appreciate the reply @tobor8man !

That command you suggested creates a single poly, is there a way for it to distribute the polys as well to an equal subdivision based off of input meshes?

Not in the same action as far as I know. Zmodeler Edge:Action Insert Mulitple Edgeloops Target: set the slider to a fixed number for how many you want or do it interactively by clicking and moving the pen without lifting of the tablet (can’t remember … might be vertical to add loops, if not then horizontal). Search Pixologic ZClassroom for Zmodeler Edge Actions for all the details.

Hi @ryan65

You can also try the Curve Bridge brush which will fill in all sides at once and the sides will have close to the same subdivided poly’s.

  1. Select the Curve Bridge brush.
  2. Start to draw a stroke close to the edge. Press the Shift key and continue holding it until your stroke appears on all edges.
  3. Rotate your model until you see the other plane and use the same technique to create a curve around those edges.
  4. As soon as you release the cursor, ZBrush will create the bridge between both planes.
  5. Click once on the surface to remove the curves.
  6. Clear the mask if needed

You can then ZRemesh to clean it up if needed which might be necessary if one plane has more poly’s than the other. Then you can hide and delete the parts that you don’t need.

Thanks @zber2. I didn’t know about this brush and could have used it so many times. Awesome. Cheers.
