Braille Tags

Hi.

I need to be able to 3D print some ‘Braille’ labels for a zoo project and am having some problems. I modeled a ‘tag’ blank in Maya with a Boolean hole but the resolution of the ‘hole face’ does not allow for a clean import into ZBrush. The hole is a quadrangle after import. I need to either add resolution to the faces in Maya before the Boolean operation or I need to perform the Boolean in ZBrush. I have not been successful in adding resolution in Maya because the ‘Insert Edge Loop’ tool will not sub-divide the required face. It only subdivides down the sides.

How can I use Maya/ZBrush to accomplich my goal?

Thanks!

~T.~

you need to triangulate that face before you export it. It’s a N-gon and zbrush doesn’t like them.

Thanks. Have corrected that.

Also, whenever I try to send a model to Maya from ZBrush I get the error message (in Maya) that the Maya GoZ Plug-In path cannot be found. I’ve gone to Maya’s Preferences/Plug-Ins and there is no Maya GoZ plug-In on the list. Do you know how to install the GoZ plug-in for Maya 2012?

2012? Holy shizzle. Nope.

Thanks, anyway!
