BPR to geo problem

I got a strange behaving geometry from a fibermesh that I bpr - converted to geo.
The result looks great at first glance, but the single faces are not welded together, even though their vertices are ( Which seems almost impossible )
I noticed that when I tried to work on that mesh with ZModeler for a few final refinements . Also the geometry consists of 2 planes sitting on top of each other with their normals facing outward.
I created leaves as fibermesh, with 2 sides for the profile and 10 segments length wise, since they should be flat, without depth. Unfortunately, ZBrush created those double sided meshes instead of one-sided as I was expecting. ( Later in render settings they would have been set to double sided ).
Z-Remesher produces strange results on that mesh, and Decimacion Master is freezing on it, but without crashing.
Did I miss something or is this a bug ?(upload://21GStjD6Uc17tteu0U2YnvJCoQC.jpeg)

Just for context, here is a rendering

Hello @zzeebee ,

You cannot weld the points or alter the topology on a live fibermesh subtool without breaking its fibermesh state. Once it loses its live fibermesh state it cannot be restored, and the geometry will perform like any other geometry and stretch itself out of shape when moved.

It’s possible that attempting to weld points or alter the fibermesh topology in any way has introduced a severe geometry issue to your mesh. If your fibermesh subtool reports any issues with Tool> Geometry> Mesh Integrity> Check mesh, this is the reason that subtool is crashing with other features. There may be no practical way to repair this with fibermesh geometry, and the subtool will need to be discarded if there is no access to it in an earlier non-problematic state.

To generate (and view) single sided geometry with this feature, set your profile to 1, segments as desired, then generate the fibermesh subtool. In the resulting subtool make sure that both Tool> Fibermesh> Preview Settings > Fast Preview, and Tool> Display Properties > Double are disabled.

Good luck!

Hi @SPYNDEL,

Awesome, for whatever strange reason it not occur to me to set the fibermesh profile to 1.
All problems solved, ZModeler runs as smooth as ever.

Thanks so much ! :+1:
