I created this Sculpture on the Occasion of Makar Sankranti.
Makar Sankranti, also referred to as Uttarayana, the word "Makar ‘’ refers to the zodiac sign Capricorn, while “Sankranti” denotes the transition of the sun from one zodiac sign to another.
This is when Lord Surya changes its position and moves towards Capricorn Zodiac Sign from Sagittarius.
Uttarayan marks the northward movement of the sun, signifying the end of winter and the onset of longer days.
The sun begins its northward journey during Uttarayan, bringing longer days and the promise of spring.Makar Sankranti celebrations and kite flying are closely connected,
as flying kites is thought to represent the sun rising and winter ending.The special significance attached to the celebration of Makar sankranti is Kite Flying. The gods who are believed to
have slumbered for six long months and are now awake and the portals of heaven are thrown open!
