Boy Scout

This is a model I started about a year ago, I plan on posing it in the next month or so. It is of a Boy Scout who is nearing the rank of Eagle Scout, (the highest rank). I was inspired by and referenced many of Norman Rockwell’s images, as well as other artists of his era. I created many custom alphas for the badges and patches. I was a Boy Scout when I was younger so I was fortunate to have most of the uniform at my side when I modeled it. I am still tweaking my texture. I plan on posing him in the pose below with the bugle. I did a color study on the badges because they are so varied in color I didn,t want them to be overpowering.
Crits and comments are welcome.

You’d think a boy scout would iron his shirt.

I think the wrinkles are too random. It looks like you put them there just to have them. In the references you posted they flow with the clothes.

Keep going and try to use subtools. A more clean shape at the start will let you find the right behaviour of clothes.
Personal; I hate uniforms. Boy Scouts always remember me to HitlerJugend. Kidz has to explore their fantasy and have to play the way they want. They do not need a paedophile to show the way they have to go in life.

Shake my hand an call me friend… It’s really difficult to find a brother in this days…

Great sculpt and a honorable theme, and I disagree with killahPriest… a scout’s shirts are never that ironed… and that clean (At least that particular kind of univorm…)

Thanks for the replies,

I’ll look into the wrinkles, I’ll minimize the subtle ones and emphasize the ones holding the stress.

ISK, thanks! glad you like.
you are right the scout uniform isthe kind of fabric that is only a little thicker than wind pants and always looks wrinkly, but I still should have pushed the wrinkles a little more.

I will update in a week or so.
