Body Paint?

I have the chance of buying Right Hemisphere’s Body Paint 3d at a good price. It is the newest student version. I have played with the demo before my intrest in 3d software. I like it. I was just wondering if Zbrush has the same capability to paint on imported models? I am thinking that it might be a good tool to use with Amorphium 3 once a UV map is added to an exported .obj file via uvmapper clasic, but if Zbrush can do the same thing then why bother to buy it when I am only going stop using it when I buy Zbrush 2.5.

Yes you can paint simple colors in edit mode… and in projection master have acces to all brushes and alpha’s and materials

Although sometimes it’s a bit tricky painting near edges and holes and then pick it up sometimes looks a bit weird… dunno how easy or good this in bodypaint is?

save the money and by zb now before 2.5 comes out and the price goes up. 2.5 would be a free upgrade.

between projection master, colorize option, and zapplink you have all the tools you need to create great textures in zbrush. Watch the artist in action videos if ya want proof.

Body Paint 3d is from Maxon. And yes, go for ZBrush. I have both and use 80%ZB and 20% BodyPaint3D 2.5. However, BodyPaint is powerfull medicine.
best advice is to download both demo’s and play and then decide.

I realize I made a mistake. The software being offered is Deep paint. Sorry for the confusion.

I keep hearing that zbrush will be more expensive when it is 2.5

If I buy it now I will save money, but will i get a future 3.0 for free?

I tried Deep Pait and had some questions and problems. That’s when I found out that the support was abysmal, the community nearly not existent, and the global knowledge very small. So I stayed away. And regarding ZBrush 2.5, 2.8 and the following 3.0, 3.5 and possible 4.0… NOBODY KNOWS. All we know is that 2.5 is pending and that it will be a MAJOR update. All I can promise from a personal point of view is that you will have a great product with which you can achieve all the cool stuff in the top row once you put your mind towards it.

Thanks lemonnado, I believe taht you have answered a couple of my questions before and I thank you for it. Below is something I have done with my cheap programs. I think I am ready to dive deep in Zbrush. Now where is that credit card?

One distinct advantage to ZBrush is that Projection Master is very powerful for painting textures, but it can also be used to literally paint geometry onto your model – either at the same time as you paint your textures or separately. It’s powerful stuff. And has already been mentioned, ZAppLink raises the bar even further – it more or less turns Photoshop (or your 2D paint program of choice) into a ZBrush plugin!

You also get much more than a texture painting application when you buy ZBrush. It’s ideal for painting and rendering still images. It’s also a top-notch organic modeling system. In short, you get a LOT of bang for your buck.

Nothing has been said by Pixologic regarding the price of 2.5. It may go up, or it may stay the same. There is simply NO official word at this time. The only thing that is a certainty is that it will be free for all existing customers at the time that it’s released.

NOTHING at all has been said about any versions beyond 2.5. I seriously doubt that anything will be, either, until sometime after 2.5 has been released.

I bought Body Paint 3D anyway. The price I paid for it was well, I could not let it go! Being a ex-owner of a siding and roofing company I understand the more tools in the box the more options you have at getting the job done. Heck I keep Adobe Elements 2 around just to render lens flares! I was also plaining on buying corel painter and felt that between all the other stuf I got and Deep Paint 3D I have everything but zbrush.

DO NOT WORRY! ZBRUSH WILL SOON BE IN MY BOX TOO!

Thanks all
