All i mean about photo sourcing textures is that i can tell he used to source his textures from the one image.

hey that’s really nice! Great attention to details. I recognise him, it’s Markus Rhul and I found your ref so I post it beside your render.

His left hand is too small.
Can we see a modeling shot without the texture? And for the texture, you use the pic and mapped it on him, it’s why it look a little like a hairbrush or something, but, it’s great work anyway :wink:

The face is a bit off, especially they eyes, but it’s not easy to match perfectly, I know. so great work!

The hilights are different from the photo reference. Man, this is one of the most photorealistic bodybuilder shots I’ve seen. You can nit-pick it when you know it’s 3D, but if someone showed it to you as a photo I think even most experienced artists would say “nah, you’re showing me a 3D render”.

I am really curious to see how the model looks like and if the skin was merely photomapped. It doesn’t look like it was photomapped though, because like I said the hilights aren’t exactly in the same place. That could be geometry distortion or PS work…

I really need to see a break down of this image, but I’ll give you the benefit of a doubt and say: freaking amazing work!
