"Black Rat" snake WIP

snake.jpg Hey guys. I started using ZBrush for the first time, two weeks ago and this is one of the models I came up with…it took me a good week to experiment the best way to model the scales and all the bumps on the head…ended up making little scales out of spheres, then projecting them onto the model using projection master. I am stuck though…can anyone recomend me a good way of modelling the rest of the scales on the tail of the snake without having to do it in one section at the time? I’m using GUVtiles, so making a scale texture in Photoshop is probably out of the question…is there a way to use separate UVmapping for the head and for the body?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

There’s only one UV Map. But you can create a scale texture in Photoshop, then import it as alpha and use it to deform your model in projectionmaster while using it as stencil for a Z-altering brush.

PS:Great Model!

Nice start…

I agree with Lemonnado, my favorite way is to create an Alpha and convert to stencil in PM. I have just posted an image here a day ago called Fallen. I talked a bit about doing just what you’re trying to do. Although the more experienced might give you other ways, this worked for me. Good Stuff so far though.

thanks…I’ll give it a go and report later

Not bad start…continue so and model also the “body”!
