Meet Venus. This is my second Zbrush model, something I started long, long ago early last summer just after my Zbrush 3 purchase! My answer to learning how to use this technology is simply to keep bashing away at a single project until it meets my satisfaction. Except for the Hitchcock model I showed here recently, this model has taken up all the free time I could bear to give it in the evenings and weekends after my computer-based day job.
My ultimate ambition in CG is that it should take the place of my fine-art work with oil paints, now six years past, and Venus is slated to be featured prominently in two pictures that I've been carrying around with me ever since.
The colour work you see above is a detail from Botticelli's Birth of Venus, a masterpiece of the Italian Rennaissance painted in 1485. My Birth of Venus will place a girl with a distinct resemblance to Botticelli's in a more contemporary setting, welcoming the dawn from high above a rural landscape. I'm tempted to describe everything about it, but I figure it's best to leave that for all in good time.
