Bevel Tool not like the others....

I have a question, I got myself R7 and I wanted to create lowpoly bevel’s all over my object but I noticed the bevel tool is not like the others such as Modo or Max. I know I can use Qbevel but that only works for high sub-d I just want to bevel my lowpoly.

Has anyone had a work around? I dont want to leave zmodeller.

The ZModeler brush is for low poly stuff mostly…
If you are trying to bevel a high poly object you could run into problems.
There are other tools for making bevles such as the Clipping and Trim brushes for example…

Try edge bevel?

I should of been more clear. The Bevel Tool for edges acts as if I am wanting to sub-d such as Modo when I bevel if will give me a smooth edge with a option to add more edges in to make that smoother. Now with Edge Bevel in zbrush it gives you a total different way such as 8 rows soft edge still gives you the look as if you have beveled it once with a hard edge but in sub-d mode it gives you a good effect.

Again I dont want to go into sub-d mode as it adds more polys.

Im baffled…

Modo’s nice and smooth lowpoly bevel http://puu.sh/gibYW/b53f17b1f9.jpg Zbrush lowpoly bevel with Soft Settings on http://puu.sh/gic5I/87abe639f2.png As you can see they do not act the same

It looks like Modo is smoothing your object and ZBrush is not.
Try using Dynamic Subdivision, or render with Smooth Normals turned on.
Its worth a shot…

I think!

Yea but thats the thing I dont want to go into sub-d mode :stuck_out_tongue: More or less I want to create lowpoly with bevels in Zbrush but I guess I will have to use Modo for the beveling :frowning:

Ah, you’re trying to make a rounded corner. I see.

Try doing the function twice.
