Best way to wrap a single subtool perfectly around a cylinder?

Hello everyone. I’m not sure what is the way to wrap one subtool perfectly around the surface of another like a cylinder.

For example, I have a fish that I made one side flat, and I have a cylinder that is exactly the diameter I need the fish to wrap all the way around or nearly all the way around. How can I do that?

I have a feeling Match Maker brush is not really for wrapping something all the way around a cylinder or sphere, plus it would not really be on the surface.

The only other way I can think of is to try to create a Insert Multi Mesh brush of the fish but I don’t think a single subtool will wrap completely on the surface around the whole cylinder, correct?

You see, I get the perfect cylinder diameter from the Ring Plugin so I would like to be able to make the fish subtool wrap exactly around that cylinder.

Thanks for any help.

I would make an Insert Mesh of the fish and wrap it around the ring.

Thank you, I’ll try that.

It might work. What I want is the subtool to not be stretched out but simplify wrapped around a curve. Minimum distortion.
