Bend curve can change axis?

hello I would like to know if I can controll bend curve s axis. If you wanted to bend object like using lattice, how do you do in zbrush??bend curve axis.PNG

Hello @katosaori

If using ZBrush 2023 the Bend Curve deformer will auto-orientate itself lengthwise to the active mesh, but does not otherwise follow the form of the mesh. You would need to space out the control points as desired and not use more than necessary. Then simply move the control points to create the S curve.

If the mesh’s shape is such that this does not work well with the default placement of the control points, then you could:

  1. Use the new Gizmo Soft Falloff feature to soft-deform the mesh by repositioning the Gizmo as desired, then moving the mesh while the Transpose brush has a Focal Shift value of less than zero. Negative Focal Shift values will only partially affect the mesh with a falloff determined by that setting.

  2. Manually deform the mesh with one of the move brushes set to the desired falloff. Reducing the ZIntensity to a very low value will make this more forgiving.

  3. Create a simple ZSphere rig and position the ZSpheres as you like to act as control points.

thank you very much for these useful ways. I will practice zsphere rig.
