Beautiful Vancouver

Hello all, I just had to share a couple of pictures that I took on a hike today on Mt. Seymour near Vancouver.
I also took some pictures of rock surfaces and trees to experiment with using ZBrush Alpha.
Once I get my website up I will make the textures available.
Have a great weekend,
 Visionary

Hiya Neighbor!

Great photos…I can almost see where my boat is docked in Ladner in the top one!!

Welcome to the Forum!! :+1: :sunglasses: :+1:

Very pretty area! Nice photo-taking too, it really shows the ā€œclear naturenessā€ of the nature up there.

Been there’ done that.

Seems us Canucks are taking over. Especially us Westerners… Go B.C ~G~

As an Eastern Canuck I had to put in my two cents…Your pics are beautiful and I bet you got some great alpha material too.
Recently, while visiting my family in Ottawa, I brought my camera along…not for family photos, but to take close-up shots of every interesting texture I could find. ZBrush is some kind of mind control.

Thanks for the comments fellow Canucks. I hope to start contributing some artwork in the near future. But while the weather is nice, the outdoors is calling me.

Cheers,
Visionary

Talk about Beautiful! I must admit that Vancouver has a special place for me. However, my daughter who was born in Montreal would ban me, if I did not put in a plug for the Laurentines. They are beautiful also. As a matter of fact the area of Canada I did not care as much for were the central provinces, but then, I only saw them from a train car, days after days of wheat or corn, enough to make you hate them!
Thanks for sharing, They certainly bring back very fond memories of my young days in Canada.
DeeVee,
Joe.

It’s just not fair showing me these images. My dream has been to immigrate to Canada for the longest time, especially British Columbia. But as far as I can tell, they aren’t letting any ā€œYanksā€ come up there these days. Not even under NAFTA - (the treaty appendix lists all of the occupations that Canada is in need of and qualify for temporary work, to start with and possible immigration later). My wife has been a registered nurse for 14 years, and they need those people, but just aren’t letting anyone up there. What is with you guys, anyhoo? So, go ahead, torture me some more.

Hey give me a shout, Bruce…I’ll sneak you across the border!

Stonecutter:

Seriously, what is British Columbia’s policy about U.S. defectors? I’m ready to defect. Do they send you back? I’ll get the station wagon packed by tomorrow evening, could you meet me at the border, let’s say, late Thursday night?

Bruce, Gregory

Actually Bruce, what you said about your wife being a registered nurse, and them not rolling out the red carpet for you surprised me…(I’m also being serious here…)

I would have thought that alone would have made you and your wife more than welcome…
As far as I know we need nurses BIG-TIME…
An interesting thing about immigration here is that we have Americans here, who are here as ā€˜refugees’ from your country, due to the rediculous and punitive laws you have in regard to Marijuana laws…There are hearings in process on their cases, since Marijuana is for all intents legal here…These guys and girls face up to 20 years down there for growing a couple of plants, and here we have Compassion Clubs, providing Medical Marijuana openly, with the full-knowledge of the police, politicians, and the public, and they have been operating for years…

Figure that one out if you can…

Stonecutter:

Immigration to Canada, regardless of your occupation seems to require the use of a Canadian lawyer, and even then, there are miles and miles of red tape. In the case of those ā€œreligiousā€ people, did they just go up there and stay and were not deported, or did they get permission to stay - just how does that work? If you can easily shoot some information my way I would be mucho obliged, as Juandel would say. I’d like to get there some way or another, and wouldn’t be opposed to a controversial one. I wonder if you contacted a hospital directly if they could sponsor you to come and work? If anybody out there in Canada land knows the answer to these questions, just let me know, I would be eternally grateful.

Bruce, Gregory

I’d be glad to help any way I can Bruce…
Tell you what…I’m just getting ready to leave the studio, to go back to my boat for the evening…Send me an email at [email protected] for tomorrow, and I’ll start getting my head around the situation with you…Maybe I can find out some stuff that will expedite matters, given some further in-depth consultation between us…

And you’re not the ONLY ZBrush Forum member with the same agenda, by the way…

Here’s all the immigration info I have on moving to Canada:
http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/
http://canadaonline.about.com/cs/immigration/

This link is will get you the forms needed. You can pay online, etc. Pretty slick. You don’t need a lawyer, just tenacity and time. The most complication lies in physicians, immunizations, and believe it or not, chest xrays. A Canadadian Doctor has to look you over. You can’t bring that documentation from a US doctor.
http://canadaonline.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cic.gc.ca%2Fenglish%2Fapplications%2Fmenu-outside.html

Don’t forget to take the ā€œimmigration scoring testā€ You have to have enough ā€œpointsā€ to immigrate. The only way you can use the religion/medical claim for Marijuana is to be sick or prove long term practice.

It’s not easy getting in, and it’s not simple. It’s less expensive then Costa Rica though. shrug

Kathy:

Wow! that was quite a bit of info you threw my way. Did you immigrate from somewhere? I’d like to know more about your experience, if you’d like to share it. I’ll look at these links, and if it is O.K., ask you some more questions. Thanks so much for your effort on my behalf.

Bruce, Gregory

First and foremost, I must convey my deepest appreciation to my big brother. SC.

He helped me quite a bit in understanding my Northern neighbor on a more personal level.

WHICH led me to considering immigration (At the risk of sounding political…)along with the fact the America, Inc. (the government NOT the country) is a rising stench on a global scale.

But that’s another story and opinion.

I spent about a month investigating and studying the implications of such a move for a family of 4 and 2 professions. I have alot of answers, but no experience. We’ve not gone anywhere yet.

But we have a plan B in place. I always feel better when I have a plan B.

 to you Little Sister, and I hope you are all better!

Hiya Big Brother!!

I JUST sent you an email!!!

Kathy:

Have you done any of the paperwork yet? If so, does it take a long time to get any feedback from the officials concerned? Too many questions, so little time.

Bruce, Gregory
