Well, from the stills it seems only slightly inspired from manga. I was hoping for something more in the style of Captain Tsubasa (a famous manga about soccer). 
I’ve seen the ads Mik, and they are cool indeed, they are definitly inspired by japanese anime, very different approach from the beebs usual stuff.
