For the longest time, I’ve struggled with anatomy. Well, last year I decided to do something about it. I started by studying the theory, taking classes with Scott Eaton, and looking at old anatomy books. What have I learned?
- Be patient, don’t rush the process, and make sure that you have a clear goal
- The world around you might be burning (especially with the state of the industry now), but if you are truly trying to learn something, you have to give it the time it deserves and protect your headspace for it… or else nothing gets done.
- Find a balance between what you see and what you know
- Constructional sculpting has completely changed the way I approach my art, I am able to manage brush economy, shape language, and feel more involved in my art and the art process.
- Find the fun in it
- The road to anatomy is a long one. Enjoy it, don’t let the worries of the world affect it.

Had a blast improving my anatomy skills.
