Bamboo Splash tablet trouble

Hello everyone. I am having some issues with the tablet I just purchased and ZBrush. I just got ZBrush, and have been watching tutorials and all of that. However I have not seen one for setting up my tablet properly. And right now it’s not working.

The tablet does not scroll properly or affect the model that I’m working on. When I follow the instructions to create a new document it recognizes the initial clicks, but nothing else. It is as though every pen tap is a click, but cannot hold. So it will create a tiny sphere or whatever I’m creating. Whenever I try to sculpt with it nothing happens. Additionally the right click settings box always pops up whenever I take the pen off the tablet. It’s very strange.

It is also worth noting that the pen works just fine on the desktop. The buttons work, and the tap works fine. Just no luck in ZBrush. I have looked at other posts, and disabled the basic Windows Pen functions, and tried to play with the sensitivity sliders, but it really seems like there is something fundamentally wrong with the way zbrush is seeing the tablet, and I am completely frustrated. I have been doing the tutorials with a mouse, and I know that is just a temporary solution.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have ‘Use Tablet’ enabled in ‘Preferences > Tablet’ ?

I do.

Did you disable the “Tablet PC Input Service” in Windows Services?

i think so. i have looked all over for tips to fix the problem. I have diabled flicks and the “press to hold” feature. I am reasonably sure it is an issue with how windows is seeing the tablet on relation to ZBrush.

What version of Windows?

Windows 7 64bit.

Check to see if “Tablet PC Input Service” is running. This service conflicts with Wacom drivers and should be disabled. To do that…

Click the Start button and in the Search pane, type “services” without the quotes. From the search results, under Programs, click Services.

When the Services window opens, scroll down to “Tablet PC Input Service” . Right click on it and select Properties. On the General tab, under ‘Service status’, click the Stop button. When the service has stopped, from the ‘startup type’ dropdown, select Disabled. Click Apply (bottom right) then OK. Close the Services window.

Check your Wacom Tablet Properties and see which driver version you are running by clicking the About button.

Go here to make sure you are running the latest drivers.

Thank you to everyone. I downloaded the newest drivers, and disabled all the options in windows. Also from another forum someone said to delete the wintab32.dll file. That seems to have done the trick.
