Greetings everyone. I needed a picture to use my Cap (http://http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=24891) in and this is what I came up with. I plan to have him holding a net to catch the balloons with. I’m not sure how to make a net. I’m thinking Meats Myers technique might work. I didn’t really follow it cause I didn’t think I would ever use it, but guess what. It might be just the answer.
It’s a beautifull Spring day and I’m kinda Z’d out so I’m going for a Bike ride at Desoto Bend. Check with you later. 50.
beautiful…just beautiful
Nice idea, I hope to see it finished soon
Just wonderful.
Make you hands too? Maybe the cap is a little bit imprisoned.

Very very nice image. You gonna add color?
great work ron (even though your not ron ) love the ballons windblow detail
You probably don’t really need each strand of the net to be 3D – they’ll be too fine to be noticeable. My approach would be to form the net shape from a Sphere3D and then apply a transparent texture to it.
Why? Because nets are formed in a diamond pattern, while the polygon distribution is more suited for a rectangular pattern. It could be done, certainly, but is probably more effort than required for this image.

Hi everyone, after a busy Saturday, I’m back at the pc and ready for more Zbrushing.
abxy, haven’t heard from you for awhile, thank you.
Mazur, I hope to get alot of work done this weekend, but there is much to do.
stumpf, you’re right about the cap and I left the hardest modeling (atleast for me), the hands for last.
Bizzarocloud, what an original user name. Thank you, yes I have alot of painting to do, the balloons will be transparent.
cosmicf00l, I think you have me confused with Ron, thank you for the kind words.
Aurick, thank you very much for the suggestion. I had gone ahead and tried the alpha-mask-hide point. (picture included) You’re idea would have been easier, yes.
Hi Pilou.
Agradece jotajota.
Here is the net I made and a link to some great plugins from redfield. I used the new version of ‘Lattice Composer’ to make the net alpha and also the texture on the basket. It is a great free plugin that comes in a bundle of several, even a water ripple version. Endless settings and random also.
Here is the link: http://www.redfieldplugins.com They work with Paint Shop Pro, PhotoShop, and PhotoImpact, which is what I use
Well, that’s it for now, back to work thanks for you comments everyone. I hope the translations worked. 50.

sorry 50’s m8 duh just read one of rons posts on another thread
cool net gonna check out that link
Ahhhh… A 50’s_KID moment. Fly fishing with my grandfather for Rainbow trout…
cosmicf00l, no big deal, I think I’ve done that too. Sorry there was a problem with the link, I fixed it. 50.
Hi Jason, I usually went to the Bullhead Pond with my Grandpa. 50.
Little stream down the bank of the cottage, ran fast and cold, with the most beautiful, full of fight Rainbow trout. Was all i could do to hold onto a little six inch monster. Childhood views of things are so interesting.
I love your baloon iamge as well, reminds of the huge festival we have here in Ottawa/Gatineau every year with balloons from all over the world celebrating the Montgolfier brothers.
Beautiful illustration, 50’sKID! and great expressoin on the kids face
Just a minor observation: while perhaps not relevant in design terms, the horizontal rope (holding the main balloon) should perhaps be slightly higher than the ‘equator’ line of the balloon, so as to allow the balloon to ‘lift’ upward.
Atwooki

I do not talk about that the very static globe this(Google trans )
Greetings, Atwooki, thank you very much, I did not put in alot of design thought on the balloon other than the horizontal band is attached to the vertical ones that wrap around the sphere. If I had put it higher I had no way to wrap the lines over the middle point. I may do something to make that more obvious. Good observation. 50.
I’m sorry, jotajota, I don’t understand, my apologies. 50.
Apesadumbrado, jotajota, no entiendo. Mis apolygies. 50. b
Best regards to all. 50.
Nice 50! Can’t wait to see the final colors/materials. And I learned something again.
Thanks!
LemonNado
Thanks, lemonnado, I finished the hands and will probably start the color version tonight. And I don’t think the learning ever stops in Zbrush. Have a nice week. 50.
