Axis Plugin Button Set for ZB3

Axis splash.jpg

This is the ZBrush3 update for the Axis Button Set consisting of Front, Back, Left, Right, Top and Bottom.

Unzip the axis.zsc file into the \Startup\ZPlugs directory and next time you boot up you will find a new ZPlugins subgroup named Axis with six buttons which can be dragged onto your UI.

Post any problems here, thanks!

Thanks a lot for another nifty plugin, Sven!

The regular Z model orientation has been driving me up the walls at times, so this will be a real soother for my nerves. Many thanks, as a chronic choleric futily thriving for that elusive Zen-emptiness I really, and I mean really appreciate it!

Excellent Sven - many thanks, this has been much needed

Chris

Thanks Sven this Plug is one of my favorite.:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Cool,

many thanks to you sven.

Cheers
Roland

…but how do you use this plugin?

I’m using zbrush3… I installed the plugin as directed, and the buttons do show up, as stated, but they don’t seem to do anything beyond announcing “top view” “bottom view” etc in the upper lefthand area of the UI.

is there something mind-numbingly simple I am overlooking (i suspect there is!)

thanks!

FN,

Actually the button set doesn’t do anything if you don’t have a 3dmodel loaded and visible and in edit mode. Then, pressing each button will rotate the model to the view indicated: front, back, left, right, top, bottom. That’s it, nothing more.

Sven

Thx Svengali this script is very usefull . I’m so happy about the small
buttons , cus I can stick them anywhere

Awesome script! This is a very nice addition to Z3. Svengali, is it possible to store custom camera positions in ZScripting? That way we could add buttons “Custom 1” thru say “Custom 3” to store custom camera positions. It would be nice to be able to position the camera on a characters face, click “s” (for store) next to a “Custom 1” button, then everytime I click on “Custom 1” my camera hops back to the face. This would basically be the equivilant of adding additional cameras to Z3.

Just a though, keep up the great work!

Thanks!

My general purpose “Recall_Info” plug-in can do this for you. You would probably want to store rotations to act as your cameras, and you would have 10 slots.

Thank you very much Svengali. I’m new to zbrush and even if I was aware of the “shift snap” way of rotating a model, I must admit that I’m very happy to have your tool tied to shortcuts keys to rotate the model faster (I’m also pretty new to using a wacom ;)). I installed it in 3.5 r3, not sure it would work so ready to remove it, but so far it caused no problem

Thank you again,

Jean-Luc
