Anybody has advices of this subject ?

I have nothing make during one month, refusing the releases!
Today I accept
That’s during 3/4 hours with a speedy connection to the net !
Is that normal ?
These releases are indispensable and necessary ?

Just my 2 cents

I keep my updates current as Microsoft is forever fixing security holes in the OS. The long download times are probably your location. Once you have caught up with all the updates, which I think you now have, they will be alot smaller. The net has become a cesspool of viruses and spyware, you no longer can afford to not take as much precaution as you can.

I’ve never updated my windows with service packs or other stuff to prevent problems from happening…
Last time they “fixed” something , the patch opened up a worse security hole. I’ll just use my firewall instead of ms patches.

Thx for your advices !
And it’s not a good trick for seeing that you have on your directory ?

Hey Pilou

If it isn’t too late, just beware that MS updates Windows so that MS Messenger is no longer able to be taken off your system. You are able to do this before updating though, so if you don’t want it, kill it first and then update. (This might have changed if you got XP recently and it has SP1 already with it.)

Also, I don’t indiscriminately update XP. Much of it is rubbish - hard disk and resource hogs. You can select the components you want and usually I just go for the security patches.

BTW, I hate MS Messenger!

Hi Bone
thx
And I have not all these gadgets of messengers
