Asian Dragon WIP_First Post on ZBC

Hi guys!

My first post…

I always felt uneasy about uploading work here. Firstly, because of the quality of work found here is simply outstanding. Secondly, because I am a beginner at using Zbrush. However, your greater knowledge would help me to move forward and complete my work. It is always great to get the suggestions of established artists.

This WIP is for a logo purpose only and is not meant to look like a realistic, living creature. (more of a sculpture).

I originally had the eyes inset under a heavy brow but, my client showed me a reference shot where the dragons eyes were bulging out completely. The base mesh was modelled in Lightwave and the bristling hair was made from hair guides. (Usually meant to shape hair, not to be the actual hair)

Any suggestions or tips for finalising this piece would be appreciated.

ThanX for your time.
Regards, Jet

Yes, I agree with you – so much of the work here is outstanding!
But I think there´s no need to worry.
I´m a beginner too and I can tell you – they don´t bite and they are all very kind.
Your dragon looks really good so far!

I have nothing to crit but I´d like to see another image because it´s hard to figure out where the feets come from.
I guess that´s because of the angle in combination with the dragon´s twisted pose.
Are you going to texture him?

Happy Zbrushing!

Great sculpt detail’s very nice. :+1: :+1: :+1:

he looks a little stoned like happy stoned make him look a little more angry

LOL! Stoned? You’re right. The original was angry but, the clients reference image has it’s eyes popped out of it’s head. I will raise this issue with them.

Very easy going dragon at this stage ; )
