Artifacts in polypaint

Hi there,
I’ve been digging around a bit (not a ton) to see if there’s an answer for this but haven’t had luck finding it.
Basically, I’m seeing nearly symmetrical artifacts in the polypainted version of a model I’m working on. It isn’t visible if I am simply looking at a basic matcap.
Based on this image, can anyone give me some guidance on how to get rid of the reddish geometric shapes?
Thanks,
Alec

Do the artefacts show on the final render, or on the exported texture maps? If not, it’s probably just a visual issue in the workspace.

Are there any visible issues in that area when you view the model in polyframe mode with polypaint disabled?

Thanks for the reply. It does persist when I either render or bake out the texture map.
I’ve tried killing the UVs and adding them again, but that doesn’t fix anything.
Another thing I tried was to use GoZ to bring the model into Maya to see if there was anything goofy with the normals or vertices in that area but it seems fine there, too.
Weird stuff.

Alec

I just checked to see what things looked like in polypaint mode vs. polypaint off and it definitely seems to be a problems with polypaint. I’ve attached those images that show a closeup of the artifacts, too.
