Apply DisMap error

Hello, I have some apply DisMap problem,
here, it created weird patterns which I cannot find in my displacement which is created in Mari

here is part of my displacement

left is after I applied my displacement, and right is when is without

Anybody knows how to solve the problem and give me some help, please?

My first thought is that your model isn’t high enough resolution to support the soft blends between gradients and that’s why you’re getting the stair stepping effect, but I can’t tell from the images. If that’s it then it’s a quick fix just subdivide more before applying displacement to check if the problem is related.

My second thought is that displacement maps are just alphas and alphas can be manipulated via the alpha palette with things like blur and intensity and curve adjustment to soften them which is what I’d try next, especially intensity and contrast adjustments which leads me to my 3rd thought which is to increase the resolution of the UVs on your model and bump up the res of the displacement map to capture smooth detail.

Just some things to try, if those don’t help I don’t know what to tell you to look at as I use displacement every day in my modeling and those are steps I’d take if I got those results personally and I’d expect them to fix that issue.
