So i was trying to download a plugin for zbrush (a very common and simple plugin) by the name of transpose master. so you would think considering it is a free download there would be absolutely no problem (oh but there is!). not the case unfortunately, because i have made the grievous sin of not have the most recent version of zbrush (i have 4.0). so when i went to download it, the download page said it is automatically part of the new version, and when you go to download details, it says the same thing. i then tried to go the archived zplugins page, which had a link which re-looped me back to the original page (so for all intents and purposes not a real archive page since it actually doesn’t contain anything archived). i tried to look elsewhere, but no one else seems to have it; or they simply reference a link to zbrushcentral since they boast they have all plugins for free download (apparently only the ones that they haven’t automatically integrated with the newest version). so now i am presented with two choices; choice 1 is spent a lot of unecessary time and effort reimporting from zbrush to maya, pose in maya bit by bit, piece by piece, and then reimport from maya to zbrush all the while hoping the two programs play along well (which they almost never do). my second choice is apparently to illegally download the newest version just so i can get 1 plugin that should be free (cause in all honesty who would pay for the new version when they want just 1 plugin?). either way, thank you for making me chose either path and also making your customers feel appreciated (only if they have the newest version anyways).
Every version of ZBrush has been a free upgrade for anyone who has ever purchased a license. There’s no such thing as a “former” customer because no matter when you purchased ZBrush you can get 4R6 right now for free – and will also get 4R7 next month.
This is why you can’t download plugins for old versions. There would be no point.
Upgrade for free here: https://pixologic.com/zbrush/downloadcenter/instructions/full-installer.php

Thanks!

Zbrush updates have all been free so far. Even version 1 to the latest has been free. If you have 4.0 you technically have 4R6 (the latest) and will also get 4R7 upgrade free. It’s well worth it to upgrade. You’re missing out on more than just a single plug-in. Lots of great new features.

The time you spent making that bitching post and suggesting looking for an illegal upgrade for ZBrush would have been better spent researching the fact that upgrading to ZBrush 4R6 is free. Just asking nicely is all it takes.
