Anyone wants to adopt a newbie?

Hello, this is my first post and also my first time getting into 3D. The past month has been pretty exiting for me, since I have been a Photoshop guy for years and suddenly stepping into 3D has been like stepping into a new world. I’ve been studying a lot and right now I know most of the basic terminology and also have been getting around the interface (stumbling into things mostly).

So I was wondering if anyone would like to adopt a newbie lol or maybe make a Google/Skype group since I don’t know anyone else who does 3D, or if there are other newbies like me around and want to band together, I think it would really cool to help each other out, I can also help with Photoshop if anyone is interested.

anyways, Let me know, Thanks! ^^

I joined, but I haven’t posted yet.

I wasn’t going to say anything, but I noticed this community has seemed to be less friendly lately. I don’t post often, but I’ve seen better days here. It used to be that you didn’t have to be a prodigy to get acknowledgement or criticism here. I guess that was still back in the 2.x days or something, but even my last thread back in 2011 got some helpful criticism.

I don’t know… maybe I suck so bad now that people think I’m hopeless or something… or maybe I just need to be patient. But when I see people tout the internet as a good enough replacement for art universitys and then find myself working in a vacuum for days I can’t help but wonder if they were wrong. I even gave helpful criticism recently to another “newb” nearly a week ago and he hasn’t even responded to it. (I just needed to be patient… nvm)

What happened to this community? I’m starting to regret that I wasn’t active here earlier. It seemed really nice back then.

So I guess the short of it is, is this ZBrushHangout a good community for developing artists? Do people there actually offer useful criticism or do you have to be some sort of highly trained Hollywood professional?

If not, can people here suggest good alternatives?

I get some help some times but its not as bad as you say but might just be the level your at, im a total newb

I signed up on that site, don’t seem very active

need people like yourself who know it well and willing to help the new people from time to time

I’m still learning. But I suppose we can all learn together. If a Skype group is what you two are interested in just let me know.

Hi yes a skype group would be awesome
