If you use the spiral brush with symmetry across one axis you get symmetrical spiraling the two sides spin in opposite directions so you get a symmetrical result.
If you use the spiral brush across 2 axis, you get the same as above, but the other axis spins in the same direction so the result is not symmetrical across all axis
