i am trying to sculpt hair, but hair keeps using depth of the current strands i just drew instead of taking the information of the head itself. i thought picker-source “other” would do the trick, but doesnt look like it.
any way to fix this?
If you have committed the geometry of a curve stroke to the mesh and it is visible, it is the new surface. You will have to either hide that geometry, or split it into a separate subtool and hide that subtool, or activate transparency + ghost mode for that subtool not to register.
You can also draw out your intended strokes as curves, for instance with the topology brush, then with those curves still active switch to the curve multi tube brush and click on those curves, to draw out all the tubes at once. Because they’re all drawn out at once, they dont react to each other at the intersections.
You may also wish to change your approach. I find its much easier to sculpt hair as a separate subtool. Perhaps create a quick mass with a mesh extract, then use the Lazy Mouse 2.0 features to sculpt, only using curves to draw out loose strands separating from the main mass of hair.
thanks for the suggestions
