Guess the subject line says it all. Just curious how to approach a flat object, with a very slight thickness, with flowers in mind. I am trying to create a Hawaiian Plumeria lei.
Thanks for any suggestions or pointers.

Hi there,
I still can’t get Zbrush 3 running but I might still like to be able to give you some advice.
If you are using Zbrush 3, then make a sphere and turn it into a polymesh. Paint a mask in a shape of the leaf and use the mesh extract tool to create your curved leaf. You would then make copies and fan them together.
You might also want to sculpt the sphere first before you mesh extract because you will get a more accurate leaf shape.
In Zbrush 2, you would draw on your screen the basic shape of your leaf (paint a filled shape, that is), save the alpha from the document and convert it to a 3d shape (make 3d, I think). You would want to play with the settings before you make 3D to get the right resolution and depth for you.
After that, you just sculpt. I think you may need to use multi markers to give you copies of your petals.
Also, it may be easier to just export out one petal into a different 3c program, make copies of the object and import it back in to sculpt.
Good luck and have fun
Cheers,
Revanto
Thanks Revanto…will give that a try. Hope you get Z3 going.
