I own a PC Desktop(sighhh) and a MAC G4 laptop. I would LOVE to buy a G5Dualproz but the box is twice as expensive as a fast pc… My 2GHz PC renders VUE5 pics as fast as my 800MHz G4. So I guess the 2.5GHZ G5 is eating the pc processors as well for breakfast.

How is ZB running on the G5??? Maybe I change my mind and save a bit longer…

Well, I would call myself more of a Mac Zbrush “learner”, not much of a “user” as of yet. :wink:

As for G5’s, I’m waiting for the new 2.75 Ghz Dual Core model to get the kinks worked out, (sometime this Fall, maybe?), before I plunk down the 3 grand. They should be announced at month-end. This means Four processors running twice as fast as the previous Dual bus mobo. Ghz and Mhz have never been a good method of speed rating, and now Intel and IBM publicly admit it Apple was right all along. It’s all in the Bus now. In the future, the fastest boxes will have multi-core, mult-processors running in parallel, XGrid style.

Meanwhile, Zbrush works very quick on my Dual 2Ghz G4. :smiley:
