Antropus uses ZBrush 2 in winning CGTalk Machineflesh Challenge entry

Congratulations to Antropus for winning CGTalk’s Machineflesh Challenge!

For those of you who may not have been following it, CGTalk has recently hosted the Machineflesh Challenge. This contest was open to CG artists from around the world, and drew an amazing number of entries by some of the best artists anywhere.

ZBrushCentral members are no doubt familiar with Kris Costa (aka Antropus), who has previously dazzled us with such images as this portrait. So it is with great pleasure that we extend our congratulations to him for winning the challenge!

We’d like to invite all ZBC members to visit the Work In Progress to see the evolution of this amazing image, as well as the many ways that ZBrush 2 contributed to its creation.

In addition, we will soon be posting an interview with Kris. Watch for it!

Congratulations, Antropus, from the entire ZBC staff!machineflesh2.jpg

Seen the thread and all the winners at that forum. What a great way to learn from his (and other participants) methods. Congrats for a great final image, I’m shure more people at that board will type in a more enlightened way about zbrush in the future.

I’m very happy that you guys liked my image and will be my pleasure, as always, to speak about this AMAZING software called ZBrush and about the fundamental importance of it in the entire process, from modelling to textures.

Also, was a GREAT honor to meet and to speak with Jaime Labelle and Pixolator in person at SIGGRAPH this year. And I can prove it!!! :

Yeah, I know…I’m a bit ugly, hahaha… in fact, my entry in the machineflesh is like a self-portrait

Thanks again and I hope I can restart soon to work with the “BIG-Z” in my new machine.

Best regards,
