Antialiasing in Zbrush Viewport

Hello Everyone!

I want to know how I do so that the edges of the geometries do not look chewed.

The image on the left is as it looks to me, and the image on the left is taken from a YouTube tutorial

Hi @Jona3D

The 2.5d Zbrush Canvas is a 2d image like in photoshop. If the canvas resolution is smaller than the screen resolution, or zoomed in closer than the actual size, it will begin to pixelate. Document zoom and 3d object scale are two separate things.

You can:

  • Increase the resolution of your document canvas in the Document menu.

  • Set the document canvas to “Actual” size in the Document menu. This will remove any pixelation resulting from the document being zoomed in.

  • Set the document to “AA Half” in the document menu. This will set the canvas to half of its actual dimensions, but applies an antialiasing effect to all the edges. Note that this is only necessary for personal preference, or when using the document for 2.5 d purposes. Rendering 3d tools with BPR has its own antialiasing settings separate from the canvas AA.
