Answered: Zbrush Trial Activation Problem

Hi there,

This is actually a continuing problem that I was having with my license of Zbrush 4. I was never able to get it to activate, after going through tech support. I decided to try to uninstall it and try installing the trial version. When I start the program it seems to load fine, interface comes up fine, then an error comes up saying:

“Zbrush is unable to retreive a valid computer ID for your machine. This prevents the Zbrush 4 Trial from being launched on your computer.”

I’m running Vista64 premium, fully licensed. Does this have anything to do with the CPU ID? I believe that is disabled in the bios by default.

When I had the full version installed I would try to do a web activation and it would give me a Zscript error. It seems like the two might be related.

I would really like to get this resolved so I can use my license on my home machine.

The Trial cannot be permanently activated. So it cannot be used in lieu of the commercial version. Whatever is causing the problems with the commercial license is probably also causing the problem with the Trial. But it’s the commercial version that we need to be working with.

Please submit a ticket at Support. The forum cannot help you with this.

That’s what I suspected. If I hadn’t tried the trial version, I would not have seen this new error that seems to give a much better clue as to what is going wrong. I have re-opened my old ticket with support and hope this can be resolved soon.

Thanks,
