Answered: ZB4 Strange startup behavior

Did a forum search but got no hits so…

ZB4 (MacOS) does an odd thing when I try to launch it. I click on the icon in the dock, it does its little bounce animation and then, there it sits. If i do nothing else it will sit there for a minute without opening the ZB window. ( I gave up waiting after 60 seconds) If I click again on the logo, or in another window, the ZB window usually opens up after a few seconds.

Very odd…

Have you tried reinstalling?

Have you installed any plugins or other startup items? If so, which?

Hi, Aurick

I have not reinstalled.

There seem to be 2 Zplugs folders:
ZbrushOSX 4.0/Zdata/Zplugs
(Contains what you would expect, including the 3 items I installed : Subtool Master , Transpose Master, Print exporter)

Print exporter does not appear in the plugins menu while ZB4 is running, btw.
and:
ZbrushOSX 4.0/ ZStartup/ Zplugs
(Contains only one item: folder.txt)

[edited for redundancy]

Replied to, perhaps, but answered?

You should not install downloaded plugins in the ZData/ZPlugs. They should always go in the ZStartup/ZPlugs.

Downloaded plugins moved. to applications/ZbrushOSX 4.0/ZStartup/Zplugs

No difference in startup strangeness.

Print exporter still not showing up in Plugins menu.:frowning:

Definitely not answered.

I had neglected to move the data folders that go with the plugins. Everything is now where it should be, and ZB starts up fine now. Thanks, guys. I think it is answered now.
