Answered: updating to new version, what files can I copy over?

Hi All

Ive just upgraded my zbrush 4 to the latest version and its created a new directory structure for the new version. Id like to move across my previous settings ie brushes, hotkeys, etc. Can anyone explain what can be moved over to a newer version without causing problems.

Thanks

If you did the Auto Update from 4R4 it automatically copied everything.

If you did a full install then you will typically be fine with the ZStartup folder contents EXCEPT for plugins (those that are compatible with 4R5 are already installed and any others that you have may not be compatible with 4R5) and your custom UI.

When copying files, keep in mind that 4R5 now has a public folder for some items. On Windows it’s at C:\Users\Public\Documents\ZBrushData. You can copy your hotkeys into this folder but should not copy the ConfigFiles or the Custom UI. The rest of the ZStartup items go in the ZBrush 4R5\ZStartup folder.

ok Thanks for that.
