Answered: The use of licence

Hello there,
i am using ZB for a couple of years now, and i use it at work and at home on two different computers. I have on licence, which is installed on my pc at work and on my home PC. Now my son gets in an age, where he likes to “play” around with ZB sculpting and i let him do once in a while when i at home and can manage to let him do stuff. The question i have is: What would happen, if i let my son do his doodling while i am work and use my ZB there as well?
Best regards

That would be a violation of the license. It is a single-user license, meaning that only one person at a time is allowed to use it. If you’re at home letting your son use it while you do something else that’s fine. But if he’s using it at home while you’re using it at work, that’s two people using one license and not good.

If he’s seriously interested in it, I’d recommend getting him an academic license. It’s the same program; just has a non-commercial restriction so that it can be offered at a lower price for students and faculty.

Thanks Aurick,
now i have a clear picture, and i thought better ask before doing it.
I will come back to that academic lisence thing. He has birthday soon. But that rises the question, am i entitled to get a academic lisence? I am working in the free industry …

Academic licenses are available through specific resellers, listed under their own heading at http://www.pixologic.com/resellers. Each sets their own pricing and qualification requirements, so I recommend checking with several to find the best match.

As a general rule you must be a student or faculty at an accredited school. Non-profit organizations do not qualify unless they are an accredited school.
