Answered: New to Zbrush.

Hi All,

I am very interested in purchasing Zbrush 4, I am concerned about my system as to its ability to work with version 4.

My system is as follows:

2GHz Intel Core2 Duo
4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT
OSX 10.6.4

My main worry is the 2400!

any help/advice would be appreciated

cheers,
David

Zbrush performance doesn’t rely on your graphics card. I’ve used the same card on an iMac without issue.

ZBRUSH 4 - MACINTOSH
REQUIRED:
OS: Mac OSX 10.5 or newer
CPU: Intel Macintosh (Must have SSE2 : Streaming SIMD Extensions 2)
RAM: 1024MB (2048MB recommended for working with multi-million-polys)
Monitor: 1024x768 monitor resolution set to Millions of Colors
(recommended: 1280 x 1024 or higher)

Thanks Richard. what I really needed to know i think, was about the CPU: (Must have SSE2 : Streaming SIMD Extensions 2). I assume that I am also ok on that matter, correct?

If your cpu was made in the last 5 years it’ll more than likely be ok for SSE2
Core 2 duo is fine.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSE2

CPUs supporting SSE2

AMD K8-based CPUs (Athlon 64, Sempron 64, Turion 64, etc)
AMD Phenom CPUs
Intel NetBurst-based CPUs (Pentium 4, Xeon, Celeron, Celeron D, etc)
Intel Pentium M and Celeron M
Intel Core-based CPUs (Core Duo, Core Solo, etc)
Intel Core 2-based CPUs (Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, etc)
Intel Core i7
Intel Atom
Transmeta Efficeon
VIA C7
VIA Nano

Thank’s Richard :+1:

Cheers,
David
