Answered: Kaspersky User Upgrade zbrush 6 problems

hi, at the moment i’m using zbrush 4r2, and decided to upgrade to 6. full
Instalation worked fine took about an 1hr…then a diolog box poped up
saying “what program do you want to use to open this file” want does that
mean?

I have deactived and uninstalled 4r2 before downloading the upgrade 6, so
I can get goz

I read something about “run administrator”…this did come up when I
right clicked on the 4r2 icon before I uninstalled it, but I didn’t click
on it then, I only read about it later when the download failed.

or does it have anything to do with my internet security?, I’m running
kaspersky

I’m using windows 64bit, if that’s any help either.
Thanks for you time

It’s Kaspersky.

You should ALWAYS disable your antivirus software before downloading, installing or activating a program. They’re designed specifically to prevent the things that installers do. With a program that’s been out for a while you’re USUALLY ok because the antivirus developer has added the program to their white list. But with a new program or new release of any program, you’re just asking for trouble.

Kaspersky makes things especially challenging because not only did it get in the way of your download, it has also somehow flagged the file so that even if you disable it and then download again it still won’t work right. You have to go into Kaspersky’s settings and specify that the file is safe. Then you need to delete the one you’ve downloaded. Then you need to turn Kaspersky off and download again. Leave it off until you have finished activation.

I have just put the serial number in…now it says i need a renewal link…i think i have tried too download it too many times.
