Answered: is it possible to merge 2 intersecting Objects a-la boolean in Zbrush

Hi there. I’ve got 2 seperate mid-to-hires models. I need to blend them togather so they did not intersect each other but istead formed one fluent surface. This is needed for applying transparent refractive material on the object afterwards.
Here is the picture.
Before starting to manually sewing mesh in maya I wanted to ask that maybe it is possible to do it in zbrush? Maybe some projecting tools? Insert mesh? I’d rather try some possibility instead of sitting and merging it manually for the next couple of days))

Yes. See the documentation on ZBrush 4’s ReMesh feature. It’s in the ZBrush 4.0\Documentation folder where you’ll find a PDF on the new features.

You could also try stitching together a low res version in maya, then projecting your detail back on in ZBrush. This should go VERY quickly, and you won’t have strange artifacts in the new mesh. I imagine you want a pretty smooth mesh if you are going to apply a refractive material.

Good luck.
