Answered: Generic Zbrush crash upon startup despite SSE2 support

Hi all,

I just downloaded and installed the trial version of Zbrush 4 and as the title sais, it crashes upon startup. I also ran a check on my cpu and it does support SSE2.
Upon consulting these formums it appears that C++ redistributable might also be the issue… Yet that’ s were you lost me. I run windows 7 ultimate 64, but I still need the c++ redistributable 32 version? if so, where do I get that?

I can’t find a x32 version of that package on the microsoft site… Also what version do I need? 2010, 2008, or another one?

Thanks a lot,

Gibrril

There’s a vcredist installer in the ZBrush 4\Troubleshoot Help folder. This installs the correct C++ for ZBrush.

Hi,

I entered a ticket to help me out, but in the meantime, I solved the issue myself: I read the other thread in which was explained that the problem could also be solved by uninstalling the program, deleting the file and then reinstalling it. I did that and now it does work.

Everything is fine now

Kind regards,

Gibrril
